Amy A. Climer

Janet Coakley (Class of 1972 and 1977) and Ted Coakley (Class of 1972)

Janet Coakley and Ted Coakley were both proud graduates of Morehead State University.
Graduating with degrees in education, they both went on to have successful careers in the
field.

Janet taught English and was the Drama Teacher/Coach at William Henry Harrison High
School from 1977 – 2003. During her professional career, she was the English
Department Chair and President of the Southwest Local Teacher’s Association. She
remained actively involved with Morehead State University and served as the President
of the MSU Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1998 – 2000.

Ted served the students of Cincinnati Public Schools from 1977-2001. During those years
he taught business before become District Supervisor, Director of Queen City Vocational
School, and Director of Adult and Continuing Education. During his career, he was
awarded Educator of the Year by the Greater Cincinnati Sales and Marketing group,
Honorary Life Member of Ohio DECA and the Distinguished Service award from the
National DECA. He also remained actively involved with Morehead State University and
served as the President of the MSU Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1996 -
1998.
