Phil Prater

Dr. Phil Prater served Morehead State University as a faculty member for 25 years before
retiring in June 2023. Throughout his tenure at MSU, Dr. Prater educated countless students,
leading the Veterinary Technology and Veterinary Sciences programs to esteemed levels.
Lovingly referred to by his students as “Dr. P.,” he served as a mentor, friend and trusted
confidant.

In recognition of his indelible impact, colleagues, family, friends and former students established
this scholarship in his honor as a surprise retirement gift.
