The Morehead State University Foundation offers nearly 400 scholarship opportunities, thanks to generous alumni and donors who care deeply about Morehead State University and its students. Many MSU Foundation scholarships are based on academic credentials such as major, GPA, academic classification, or other criteria such as high school, county, or state.

Many students are selected to receive MSU Foundation scholarship awards by committees from departments and colleges, while others are selected by staff from the Office of Financial Aid and the MSU Foundation. Students are encouraged to apply for MSU Foundation scholarships each year as their eligibility may vary based on their academic classification. Additionally, new scholarships are added each year thanks to the generosity of our donors.

The application for Foundation scholarships opens in January each year for the upcoming academic school year beginning in August. Students are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of March 15. However, application deadlines vary by scholarship. The final date to apply is June 15.

If no candidate meets the donor’s preferred criteria through the Foundation scholarship pool and match application process, the MSU Foundation and Morehead State University ensure the scholarship is awarded to a student with financial need.
